Commenting on the announcement of the SNP Government's Cabinet reshuffle, which sees Roseanna Cunningham replace Mike Russell as Environment Minister, Libdem South of Scotland MSP and Environment spokesperson Jim Hume said:
"Roseanna Cunningham must make her first order of business as Environment Minister revising the SNP Government's deeply unpopular proposals to sell off Scotland's forests.
"The previous Environment Minister was naïve to underestimate the strength of feeling against these proposals.
"This reshuffle is the perfect opportunity for Roseanna Cunningham to do what Mike Russell failed to do. She must listen to the many thousands of voices that oppose the Government's plan to sell off some of Scotland's most prized national assets.
"I have urgently requested a meeting with the new Minister."
