Jim Hume, MSP for the South of Scotland, yesterday presented prizes to winners of the Scottish Field Archery Championships when the competition came to Elibank Forest at the weekend (30th and 31st August).
Jim Hume said:
"It was an honour to have been asked to present the prizes at such a prestigious event in the field archery sporting calendar.
"Outdoor sports go hand in hand with the Borders and the wider South of Scotland, so highlighting the weekend's competition is really an excellent opportunity to highlight the benefits of outdoor activities and the fact that they're right on our doorstep.
The MSP continued:
"With the Olympics over, now is the time to harness the enthusiasm of Scotland's young people for sporting activities and to use our natural resources to our best advantage so that we can encourage healthier lifestyles as well as encouraging future Olympians."
