LOCKERBIE SLUR AN INSULT TO THE COMMUNITY

Jim Hume, MSP for the South of Scotland, has today expressed shock and deep disappointment at SNP MSP Christopher Harvie's derogatory comments about Lockerbie.

Jim Hume said:-

"I was shocked and appalled to hear the SNP MSP Christopher Harvie's derogatory comments about the town of Lockerbie.

"I have written to Professor Harvie inviting him to join me in a guided tour of the town.

The MSP continued:-

"Professor Harvie quite clearly needs to spend more time in Lockerbie to realise what a jewel in Dumfriesshire it actually is.

"I have had a long affiliation with this market town, which has a proud history and strong community.

"Professor Harvie's comments are an insult to this community."
