Jim Hume, MSP for the South of Scotland Jim Hume, MSP for the South of Scotland, has today welcomed the news that country singer star, Dolly Parton, is to launch the Scottish leg of her literacy campaign for youngsters in Galloway.
Jim Hume said:-
"Galloway seems a natural choice of location in which to launch the Scottish leg of the singer's project given the success of the Wigtown book Festival.
"Ms Parton's decision to launch her project in Galloway is most welcome and will not only highlight the importance of literacy, but will also provide books for children in the area.
The MSP continued:-
"I would be delighted to meet with Ms Parton to congratulate her on her efforts."
