Jim Hume, MSP for the South of Scotland, has spoken out on the potential for growing Bog Myrtle in his region following a debate in the Scottish Parliament last week.
Jim Hume said:-
"Bog Myrtle grows in boggy conditions and has for many years been used as a midge repellent.
"Research over the last few years has shown that the plant's oil can be used to treat acne and is an effective disinfectant.
