SNP MUST TACKLE ALCOHOL ABUSE

Responding to Executive figures showing that alcohol-related liver disease is on the rise, Jim Hume, MSP for the South of Scotland, has called on the Executive to take action to prompt a long term culture change for alcohol in Scotland.
Jim Hume MSP said:-
"These statistics are deeply concerning, but sadly, all too familiar.
"The Executive must clarify urgently what it action it will take to tackle alcohol abuse.
"We want to see the SNP honour their commitment to extend action to tackle inappropriate drinks promotions, such as alcohol being sold cheaper than bottled water, to off-sales premises.
The MSP continued:-
"Alcohol abuse is a serious problem that cannot be swept under the carpet; the Executive must take action."
