LIB DEMS DEMAND CAUTION ON WILDLIFE CRIME PUNISHMENT

Jim Hume, MSP for the South of Scotland and Environment Spokesman, has today spoken out on the need for fair and effective penalties for wildlife crime.

Jim Hume said:-

"Fresh in our minds of course is the recent and tragic poisoning of the Golden Eagle in Peeblesshire in my and my colleague, Jeremy Purvis's, area and there is now significant scientific evidence that illegal activity like this is seriously damaging populations of golden eagles, red kites, hen harriers and other birds of prey.
